Vent about something that annoys you
Almost every time I turn on the TV (which is not that often at all) I happen to come across this "Butt Dialer" commercial for Blackberry Pearl. I find this spot incredibly annoying and get irritated just thinking about it. I understand they're trying a little different approach to selling a phone and I think it is a good angle to sell a Flip Phone from, but if they want to actually sell it then please find a better way then using some annoying voiced talent and lines.
Watch Something Funny
About two years ago in my Digital Foundations class at the University of Texas my professor showed us this video in class. I remember thinking it was absolutely hilarious, and soon to be a huge YouTube hit. Sure enough about a year later it re-surfaced and just the other day I remembered it. I don't know what made me think of it, but I believe it is innovative and different and absolutely love the voice over.

Appreciate the small things

My family went to Sunday brunch at a neat little Cafe a couple of weeks ago. I ordered a cup of hot tea and when it was brought out I was absolutely incredulous of the cup it came in. A normal mug with the words tea written all over in two different colors. I don't know why this happen to catch my attention but I became obsessive about it and began to count how many times the words tea was written and this is what I came up with:
TEA is written 665 times total
175 TEAs of which are dark brown
490 TEAs are faded brown
Leaving 26.3% of the words on the mug to be dark brown
There are 1,995 total letters on the mug
525 of these are dark brown letters
1, 470 are faded brown letters
Mind you I was rather hyper that day, and being the peculiar person that I am I found this quite intriguing while the rest of my family did not. (after about the third thing I came up with)
Also on this same occasion, my mom had ordered hot tea and hers came in an equally enthralling mug, which immediately took my mind back to my childhood days when I recalled the notorious "Boat Bowl" my three brothers and I would fight for everyday to have our cereal or soup out of.
What I learned from this experience was that sometimes, in life you have to take a closer look because vast enjoyment can be found from even the smallest of things. The objects that we use everyday hold more of an importance than we give them credit for. So, I encourage that we not forget to appreciate them (whether it be a mug, a pan, a blender, an oven, a grill, or even a computer) for what they do for us on a day to day basis because they make our everyday actions that much more simple.

Watch a Fashion Show
As always I am an avid follower of all the Fashion Weeks especially New York Fashion Week, if you're looking for inspiration you need not look further as these are some of the most Fashion forward (Rodarte) and inspirational (Christian Dior Haute Couture) which never cease to impress their audiences with new innovative styles and twists on clothes never thought of before. One of my favorite collections (among many) from NY Fall 2009 is Rodarte. Rodarte's collection boasts cool deconstructed garments reminiscent of city life that evoke strong powerful women. There are varying fabrics and hues ranging from black to metallic emerald green and silver. A stunning new innovative collection from Rodarte.
Also as always, John Galliano designer of Christian Dior Haute Couture Never ceases to amaze me. This Fall/Winter 2008/2009 collection emphazizes the waste and shoulders with a very girly vibe. This collection isn't my favorite among some of John Galliano's that I have seen, but always incredible to watch and see what he has come up with.

Go Wine Tasting (If you're of age of course)
I took this picture the summer before last just outside of Florence, Italy at a small Vineyard where my grandmother and I went wine tasting. For Valentine's Day with my boyfriend we went wine/ chocolate tasting which reminded me of my Italian wine tasting experience. Anyhow, when I went for Valentine's Day I learned something unusual that I had no idea about and that was: when having chocolates with different percentages of coco in them along with a taste of red wine, the coco causes the wines' taste to change with the different amounts of coco. It was rather interesting and very true, as with each different chocolate we tasted, the wines flavor would also change. Well hey, you learn something new everyday don't ya and who would've thought this would be it? Thursday, February 12, 2009
Tell Someone when they have Something on their Face i.e. Green thing, Make-up, etc.
I wish I had a picture for this story, but unfortunately I don't, so my words will have to paint the picture for you. I am in one of my classes and we are doing an exercise to get to know our peers better, so half the class is standing in a circle facing outward while the other half is forming an outer circle and facing towards the inner circle. Two question appear on the overhead, you meet and greet whoever is on front of you and after talking with them for two min the outer circle rotates one person. By the end of the class you've talked to almost everyone. During this process my eyes were watering quite a bit and were rather irritated feeling so I kept messing with them trying to make it stop as the circle continued to go around and I continued to meet more people. At one point I was talking to this girl, standing there rubbing my eyes as she watched with an interesting look on her face like she wanted to say something, but didn't. Little did I know that because my eyes were watering and irritated it had caused my mascara to make its way about an inch past each of my eyes. It looked as if I had 2 or 3 long spider legs coming out of each eye (a little scary, yes). After class as I was walked to my car, I started to realize I was receiving some rather unusual attention as people kept looking at me oddly. I then realized that the same thing had been happening throughout my entire class, as while I was talking to each person they seemed uncomfortable, or like they didn't know what to do. So anyhow I get to my car, only to discover these "spider leg" looking black lines coming from each eye. I thought, WOW thanks a lot guys for telling me I had stuff all over my face. I mean seriously, I talked to at least 12-15 people and not one of them had it in them to tell me a had black stuff all over me. WOW, wouldn't you want to know if you did? I think yes! So people come on tell others what you would want to be told, even if you've never met the person both of you will be better off! I mean seriously I always tell people if they have something on their face because I know I would want to be told so PLEASE do the same..It will make the world a happier place. Oh and yes, I have also been the one to have toilet paper follow me out of the bathroom on my shoe, dont' know how it happens, but do know I was the one who found it minutes later. No telling how many people didn't tell me considering I was at a restaurant.

Make a Snowman
Over Christmas Break I went skiing with a small group of people and while my boyfriend and his friend were building a rather provocative, inappropriate snowmen and snow-women, I set off to build my own mini snowman. It was freezing cold outside and beginning to snow as I treaded through the deep snow below the cabin searching for my supplies to help built my little snowman, borrowing items from nature for my own creation. After, finishing my tribal snowman guy I felt a huge sense of accomplishment at the completion of my very own sculpture so to say. There is something about finishing a snowman that gives one a great sense of accomplishment, now proud to showcase their new "design". Unfortunately, my snowman had a short life span as the snow plow man cleaned him off the deck. But, before he did I was able to snap a few shots of him for later viewing. Needless to say, although it might seem small and insignificant, making my snowman was a rewarding experience which left me happy.
